Claude Merges Chat and Cowork Because Sifting Tools Was Hard

Anthropic has finally admitted that making users jump between separate interfaces for casual chatting and heavy lifting was a design flaw, merging Claude Cowork and chat into a single tool. Alongside this unification, the company is rolling out beta versions of Claude Docs and Claude Slides, while embedding Claude Design directly into standard conversations. The idea is that you can chat with the AI, hand over a sprawling report, and have it spit out formatted documents and presentations without ever leaving the conversation thread.
